What is Video Chat?

We are trialling Video Chat as an experimental feature for subscribers.

During this period of social distancing, it's difficult to meet face-to-face, but integrated video chat offers the opportunity to take your conversation to the next level.

How can I start a Video Chat?

You can start a video chat from any conversation, by pressing Start Video Chat. But remember to let the other person know first, so they can join you!

In the conversation, just ask the other person if they want to video chat now, or you could arrange and time to have a video date later.

At the agreed time, just click on the Start Video Chat button within a conversation.

Important: Both of you will need to be online for the video chat option to appear. If you can’t see the option, try refreshing your browser.

You'll then see a window pop-up which will ask for permission to use your camera and microphone. Once you’ve accepted that, we’ll connect you.

Is Video Chat available for everyone?

This is an experimental feature which we're still testing and you'll both need to be subscribers to use it.

We're trialling this feature for a short time to help connect people during the lockdown.

It's designed to work on modern iOS and Android devices and the latest version of Google Chrome.

Is the video chat service moderated?

No, we don't monitor or moderate video chats, so your chats remain private.

However, if you experience problems with the service or another member, please let us know.

How can I report someone?

If another member acts inappropriately on video chat (or any other chat for that matter!), please report this to us at help@christianconnection.com. If you can, please also include a screenshot of the chat and as many details as you can of the incident, we will look into it.

This article from PC Mag explains how to take a screenshot on any device.

Please feel free to share your feedback at contact@christianconnection.com
